Doug Kemp was born in the UK in September 1939 and was raised in the east end of London. He still remembers the blitz and even a German V1 rocket flying over his home in Walthamstow. He has a unique style of post-industrialist art that draws influence from personal experience, the ww2 years, the USA (particularly Chicago), comic book art, pop art, (modern art), film noir, art-deco and gangster movies made in the 1930s & 1940s.
