Doug Kemp was born in 1939 because of wartime evacuation and raised in Walthamstow in East London. He has a modernist style of fine art that draws reference from personal experience, the USA (New York & Chicago) comic book art, pop art, post industrialist (modern art), film noir, art-deco and gangster movies made in the 1930s & 1940s.
