Doug Kemp Fine Art
Doug Kemp trained at Walthamstow College of Art and graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts in the 1960s.
He went on to hold a Fellowship at Gloucester College of Art and spent over two decades as a senior lecturer at Loughborough College of Art and Design.
His work pulls from personal experience, American culture — especially Chicago — comic books, film noir, gangster films of the 1930s and 40s, and a long thread of art history running back over 2,000 years.
It seems like algorithms haven’t quite caught up with the nuances of artistic expression. Such was the case for our website, which features a collection of paintings that caused our Advertising system to mark us as “Restricted” due to the female form subject matter in these paintings.
