The artist Doug Kemp was born in Bath in 1939 because of wartime evacuation and was raised in the east end of London. Doug’s unique style of modernist art draws reference from personal experience, the USA (New York & Chicago) comic book art, pop art, post-industrialist (modern art), film noir, art-deco and gangster movies made in the 1930s & 1940s.
