Doug Kemp was born in Bath because of wartime evacuation in 1939 and raised in Walthamstow in the east end of London. He has a unique style of fine art that draws reference from personal experience, the USA (particularly Chicago) comic book art, pop art, post-industrialist (modern art),  film noir, art-deco and gangster movies made in the 1930s & 1940s.
