The Book of Doug began as a way of bringing together selected paintings from across Doug Kemp's career, presenting the work alongside stories, observations and commentary.
Two print and online volumes are now available, covering artwork from different periods and collections.
The publishing and online project has since expanded to include The Colouring Book of Doug: Love Gone Wrong, now available in English, German, French and Spanish.
Additional art books and themed colouring books are planned, with future titles including True Crime, Heroes & Villains and Metropolis. Together, these publications are building towards a much larger archive of Doug Kemp’s work.
The paintings featured in the book(s) of Doug are documented individually, each with its own story, context, and supporting material including video where available.

The Palais captures the lively atmosphere of mid-20th century dance halls.
Two women dance energetically at the centre of the composition, one spinning so quickly her skirt lifts in the motion.
Doug Kemp’s Madam Medusa linocut print, created in 1996, has been selected for Patty Carroll’s new book Domestic Demise & Debacle. This latest Anonymous Women collection explores domestic chaos with a surreal twist.
