She is also armed and aiming in the same direction. The collision forms a single circular structural composition, though she adopts an anatomically impossible pose, her elongated body wrapped around his with both figures locked in a moment of chaos.
Exaggerated arms and shoulders
Her jacket and skirt have different extreme check patterns that heighten the visual tension, while he is dressed more conservatively, contrasting with her vibrancy.
His arms and shoulders are exaggerated, and his gun arm parallels hers, reinforcing the circular device at the centre of the piece.

Stylised yellow starburst
Behind them, patterns of coloured lines, perhaps the stylised shadows of buildings, are overlaid by a stylised yellow starburst suggesting a gun muzzle flash. This burst, along with the woman’s yellow hair, balances the composition and injects light into the violence.
