A typical 1950s decor pattern
The scene is set with the well-dressed man seated at a counter or bar top that has a typical 1950s decor pattern (reminiscent of Homemaker design) or is showing the reflections of the lights and fittings of the room.
A clearly happy woman is “draped” over his shoulders in an embrace almost as if she was just passing or maybe as a surprise, and the man appears pleased by the attention. The action is as if viewed, perhaps, by a bar worker or a waiter/waitress.
a background scene of separate cityscapes and cars
Looking behind them through what could be a stylised glass window, there is a background scene of separate cityscapes and cars that, due to the relative locations of the buildings, are not actually in true perspective.
Alternatively, this could just be a device to support the main characters but could even be considered, if accepting realism, to be decor within the premises, such as wallpaper or artwork hung on the wall.
The bright colours of the cars are in contrast to the cooler blue-grey of the man’s hat and jacket and form a useful frame for the characters.
