Three Monuments Paintings Forming A Triptych
The Monuments is a collection of three paintings. Each of the three artworks can be viewed as a piece in its own right yet they form a triptych.
The term triptych describes a three-panel artwork that is traditionally used in painting & sculpture.
Each one of the three Monuments paintings have abundant Art Deco elements and the three pieces each have distinct individual characteristics that determine their order in this vertical series.
A View through a window
The image of the central male character, who appears to be entering through a door, might be interpreted as merely contained within the circle as a device for the overall image but an edge rim to the circle and the surrounding coloured decor, possibly with stylised light bulbs, might suggest that it could be a view through a window or port at the fairground.
The formal dress of the male does not lend to the idea that he is actually ready to party.
