Doug Kemp was born in 1939 because of wartime evacuation and was raised in Walthamstow in the east end of London. Doug has a modernist style of fine art which draws reference from personal experience, the USA (New York Chicago) comic book hero art, pop art, post-industrialist (modern art), film noir, art deco and gangster movies made in the 1930s & 1940s.
